 Welcome to the XR4Register website

The XR4Register at the Ford Enth Show 3rd April 2005

Set-Up Day
After calling in a few favours and a lot of running around set up day went well. We got Kev's XR4i to Donington and managed to set the stand up with 15 mins to spare before they closed the doors. All in all a record-breaking achivement so at least we were out in time and had the rest of the evening to relax a bit.

Show Day
On the day all the hard work paid off as the XR4 Register team achieved 2nd place for 'Best Themed Stand'

Lights, camera, action? well almost, one minor problem: we couldn't get on with putting the finishing touches to the stand before the show opened to the public, as most of the gear was locked up in the XR4i on the stand!. The 'Muppet Award' goes to Bhav for forgetting the keys to the XR4i (chuckle, sorry Bhav but you had to be named & shamed for that one!). Thanks to Pete D for haring down the motorway with Bhav to get the keys. Once we had these it was all hands to the deck and the stand was complete.

The theme for this years show was 'Monte Carlo Rally'. There was only one choice of car to use and we decided it HAD to be Kev's XR4i (Kev's Driver Profile). There was no question about it, with all his handy work with the graphics on the car we were half way there. We then turned the stand into a rally pit/stage stop, complete with rally information, trophies, podium and the scaletrics set which was a great crowd puller. Think we should of charged people to have a go as judging by the crowds we were getting we could of made a tidy profit. As it was so entertaining we thought we would have a massive scaletric tournament at T&C show on 27-29th August.

The competition was tough but we managed to come in 2nd which was great as we can relax and chill for the rest of the shows this year. The winners of the themed event were as follows:
1st - Sporting Escorts
2nd - XR4 Register
3rd - 105 Anglian Owners Club
4th - Capri International
5th - Mk2 Escorts.

A big thank you to all who helped however big or small your part was, it all helps and we appreciate it, especially Gengis for making majority of the props and for the use of his front room. Also to Paul & Alan for getting the flooring to the show and laying it out in advance. Thanks to Ross for using up his personal mileage allowance for the rest of the year in 3 days!.

Thanks to:
ShowTrax for the loan of the pit equipment
P&J Storefitters for the use of the van
Retail Graphix for the signage

Last but by no means least Kev for sorting the van out & walling out for us and also for getting his car up and running in time for the show.
