New Sills
As previously mentioned I have cut out the corrosion to the floor, inner sill and outer sill and replaced and where necessary made up new panels. All the work was done at home and was not as difficult as you might think. I had never done anything like this before so it was all new to me, the only thing that I left to the experts was the welding which a mate did for me. Total cost about £170 and it took about 14 hours a side, plus about 3 hours for the welding. If anyone is thinking of doing a similar job at home send me an e-mail via the 'contact us' page on this website and i'll give you any advise I can.
New Bucket Seats
After the sills and floor were finished strengthening plates were welded in place for the 4 point belt. Then the Sparco seats and belts were fitted. All that is left now is to replace the o/s rear wheel arch which is rotten. The car now has an mot and is ready for T&C (27-29 Aug 05).
