The XR4Register at the Classic & Sports Car Show, Wonderland 6th June 2004

Wonderland ? well it certainly lived up by its name in more ways than one, WONDERful Weather & WONDER how no one fainted with sunstroke! We couldn't have asked for better weather.

Organised by the Capri Club, this was our first time at this 2 day event and we decided to check out the last day. There were a lot of interesting cars clubs and a lot of privateer entries with some really great looking cars. From the humble Mk3 Cortina to the totally outlandish Ford GT40!. From the yampy zebra Capri to the serious Muscle Mustangs of yester year. They don't make em like that no more, they don't sound like them either!. Trade stands a bit on the thin side to say the least, unless u wanted to get some paint matched up to your car!

On the plus side? Wonderland Pleasure Park, a place of getting rid of the kids for the day as was the case for Steve W. He had some explaining to do to the missus as to how he spent so much & nowt to show 4 it! The words Fireworks or Northern lights come to mind!

Concourse Judging on a very high scale too and our very own David & Wendy Ashmore got 2nd placing for their respective category (Wonderland 2004 Post 1980 Ford Category). Well done. He perhaps would have got 1st place if he had his car on the Register Stand next time (chuckle)!

Once again, JB was the fire starter and the barby was hotter than his Turbo 4 a change, however the chilled drinks went down well in the soaring temperatures.

An enjoyable day was had by all just relaxing 4 a change. Thanks to all those that turned up and made the most of it as we all returned home from this event with a few pink/bronze/red faces (with the exception of Bhav as he is properly tanned !). JB was getting to resemble Bhav but settled for Greek Look! Good job he wasn't cooking Kee-babs on the barby as he would be called Stavros!.
